"Those who think they have not time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness." -Edward Stanley
Making fitness a part of your life is the perfect way to avoid some harmful illnesses and diseases. As Stanley believes, it might be difficult or time-consuming to live a healthy lifestyle, but it pays off in the end.
"Movement is a medicine for creating change in a person's physical, emotional, and mental states."

Fitness takes hard work and everyone strives for the best body. The only way to achieve a great body is to exercise, there is no way around it. There is no magical pill that can make your body how you want it. It is all about working hard.

This quote is saying that being active and fit not only improves a person’s physical health but also makes them emotionally and mentally healthier. It is saying that being active and fit is good for your health in every way.
I still need more healthy rest in order to work at my best. My health is the main capital I have and I want to administer it intelligently. Ernest Hemingway
Being healthy and rested allowes us to complete our best work. A fact that i believe none of us can argue against. When your
healthy you not only accomplish more but whatever you accomplish is of higher quality.
Fitness - if it came in a bottle, everybody would have a great body. ~Cher
It is exercise alone that supports the spirits, and keeps the mind in vigor.- Marcus Tullius Cicero
This quote says that exercise is the only way to keep your whole state of being healthy. Being healthy is essential to a vigirious mind.
I like Cher’s interpretation of the virtue fitness. Cher’s belief is that everyone would have great fitness if it were something as easy to acquire as a bottle of water. This allows me to infer that everyone wants great fitness but only wants it if it comes easy, such as again, a bottle of water.
"Movement is a medicine for creating change
in a person's physical, emotional, and mental states." Carol Welch
I think that this quote is saying that exercise is a cure for pretty much any minor problem you have, whether it is physical, mental, or emotional and that all people should excercise because of this.
If you don't do what's best for your body, you're the one who comes up on the short end. -Julius Erving
If you don't take care of your body (fitness and health) you are going to have a shorter life.
"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basics to a dynamic and creative intellectual activity." - John Fitzgerald Kennedy
This quote is saying that not only is fitness good for your body but it is key to obtaining a good education. It is key to having that extra intellect and creative mind over everyone else.
"To feel 'fit as a fiddle' you must tone down your middle." - Unknown
This quote expresses societies view on being fit. In today's world, all we ever hear about are different ways to become skinny. Rarely do we ever hear about being fit. They are two different things. Being fit is pretty much the same thing as being healthy. That does not necessarily mean a person has to have a toned middle.
I still need more healthy rest in order to work at my best. My health is the main capital I have and I want to administer it intelligently.-Ernest Hemingway
This quote by Ernest Hemingway describes Hemingway's realization that his health is his main priority and he must be healthy to work his best.
I am always busy, which is perhaps the chief reason why I am always well.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton In this quote she is saying that she is always busy moving, and being active. That is the reason why she is healthy. She implies that if she was lazy and sat around all day that she would not be well all the time, and that she would instead be sick.
If your dog is fat, you're not getting enough exercise. ~Author Unknown
(This is a great quote because it demonstrates one way that laziness can effect not just one person's fitness, but another being's. The quote expects people to infer that the dog is not being walked enough. Walking your dog is a typical expectation of someone who owns a dog. Walking is a simple exercise, and if someone is too lazy to walk their dog, then I can only imagine what else they are too lazy to accomplish.
This qoutes helps better define the importance of fitness as not only does it encourage the strengthening of the human body but of the human brain as well. It stresses that exercise of the mind is just as important as physical activity and creates the idea that both are just as valuable.
The following quote discusses fitness of the soul, instead of physical fitness. The quote show that life, although full of ups and downs, shows an “eternal fitness”, in the sense that life is a long continuous journey.
For life is only life when blest with health. – Martial - This quote shows that being fit means being health in which means having a good life. In which, when people are fit they are able to enjoy life better, just look at the problem with obesity. People that are dealing with obesity are not able to do as much as people that are fit, and that is because their bodies are physically unable to do so. However, with the right exercise and diet they could achieve being fit, and being able to enjoy life better than they had.
I absolutely agree with this quote by Sasha Azevedo. I am a cross country runner and when I saw this quote, it made me excited for the upcoming season! Running will get you physically and mentally fit, you need to be strong inside and out to be able to run. When I run, it clears my mind completely and I just focus on running. It is a very stress-relieving activity and that is why I love it. Being physically fit is very important because it makes you feel better about yourself and for me it gives me a little bit more of confidence. Fitness is key to living a healthy and long life.

- No matter what we have come through, or how many perils we have safely passed, or how many imperfect and jagged - in some places perhaps irreparably - our life has been, we cannot in our heart of hearts imagine how it could have been different. As we look back on it, it slips in behind us in orderly array, and, with all its mistakes, acquires a sort of eternal fitness, and even, at times, of poetic glamour.Randolph Silliman Bourne
